Ray Charles - "Goin' Down SLow"

These recordings were made early on in the career of Ray Charles which makes them a true collector's edition. This album is a must for fans of Ray Charles and all other lovers of great music as well.

Ray Charles has been aptly called "The Genius". Born in 1930, Ray went completely blind by age 6 but by the time he was a teenager he mastered the piano and began writing songs. His first record contract was for Ray and his trio, in the 1950's he added a horn section and with his arrangements created his now famous style and sound. Soon Ray signed with Atlantic Records where he quickly came to the attention of the mass public with hits like "I Got A Woman" and "Hallelujah I Love Her So".

In the 1960's Ray moved to ABC Paramount Records where he then became an international star with hits like "Hit The Road Jack", "Georgia On My Mind" and "I Can't Stop Loving You". Through the years Ray has blended blues, jazz, gospel and soul creating a unique sound that is uniquely Ray Charles - The Genius!
