Johnny Paycheck "Honky Tonk & Slow Music"
Johnny Paycheck started out as a guitarist for Porter Wagoner, George Jones and Ray Price. In the 1960's Paycheck went solo and had his first chart success with "A-11" and "Heartbreak Tennessee". He was one of the founders of Little Darlin' Records at this time, and despite his hits for the label, by the end of the 1960's the label went under and Johnny began drinking heavily.
In 1971 he hit the charts with "She's Got It All" then followed up with the songs "Something To Give My Love To", "Love Is A Good Thing" and "Song And Dance Man". In 1976 he went bankrupt. He came back with the hits "I'm The Only Hell My Mama Ever Raised" and the song which became his trademark "Take This Job And Shove It". Paycheck's was sentenced to a 19 year jail term for aggravated assault in 1988.
We are very proud to be able to bring you these rare Johnny Paycheck recordings from the 1970's. These are collector's recordings that we know you will treasure for many years to come.
